Nicely renovated (West Wing) and good location adjacent to White Swan hotel. Good and clean bath shower. RMB 490 including 2x breakfast and 2x soft drinks and late check out by 2pm (no need to camp in with all the other guest before 12pm). Breakfast is great with 4 different cheese. I used the roof top swimming pool in East Wing. Good view to overlooking the Shamian and City side. The electronic door lock system is not sensitive and have to wipe the card for almost 5 mins to get into the room!
we have stayed in this hotel on many occasions...The location is wonderful as it is on an island and you are totally away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The architecture of the surrounding buildings is totally European 1800''s and most of the area is quite charmingIn.Many streets are closed off to traffic so it is quite ideal for a family with kids or older adults. The hotel is very well situated.it has 2 buildings....the better one is the West building as it is totally renovated. In the East Tower many rooms have been renovated but many have not.if you get a non renovated room it is very shabby and not at all acceptable.if you get a renovated floor then it is quite good.On this trip we had an older shabby floor so it was quite bad.Unfortunately it was an extremely busy time in the city as the biggest Convention of the year was on so we had to accept the take it or leave attitude of the staff. So to be fair...I''d say make sure you get a renovated room and ask to see the room before you check in.
Good place to stay as its just by the Pearl River, yet near to Canton Tower and Tienhe night cruise. Staff speak English and service is great. Rooms are spotlessly clean and restaurant on 2nd floor serves delicious Cantonese cuisine.Saw lots of bridal groups taking photos in the beautiful grounds surrounding the hotel. The hotel has historical significance, we went away with good impression of Guangzhou.
