Mrs Maggie Bevis An extremely large hotel but ideally located for getting around the central part of the city, especially if you intend walking and not taking taxi''s everywhere. My second stay here and pleased with it. Staff are very friendly, efficient and welcoming. Rooms are comfortable and clean as are the beds. Downside was that our room had a terrible view of a brick wall this time, but as we hardly spent any day time hours there, it really wasn''t a problem, but suggest if you intend to be in your room during the day, make sure to ask for a view of some sort. Beware, the breakfast is expensive if it''s not included in your booking package.
Mrs Very large well run hotel. All staff were extremely polite and helpful and welcoming at all times. Room was large and comfortable although the view wasn''t so great, but not important as not much time spent here anyway. The carpet in our room was scruffy and I suspect this is the case in most of the rooms, otherwise, very comfortable and well fitted out. Beds and linen were very comfortable and very clean. More complimentary tea/coffee/milk/water in room would be helpful and appreciated. As in every hotel, avoid mini bar as much too expensive. Will definitely stay at Sofitel Xi''an when I return in October.
